The partners and associates of Hersh Mannis LLP are pleased to announce that Sarah A. Thompson has been hired to the firm. Sarah brings a well-rounded base of experience in the area of family law from her work in the Bay Area, including handling cases involving complex financial issues as well as those involving high conflict custody matters. She has served both as counsel to parties in mediation as well as in the courtroom. Ms. Thompson’s passionate interest in juvenile justice began while still in law school, with an internship at the non-profit group, Legal Advocates for Children and Youth. There, Ms. Thompson assisted with the legal challenges facing children who had been abused or neglected. She was also successful in obtaining a restraining order for a minor client and prevailing on a contested visitation hearing in Probate Court, as lead attorney. Ms. Thompson participated in the Intensive Advocacy Program where she learned essential trial skills from premier litigators and judges from across the county. It was during these experiences that she discovered a passion for helping families and an appreciation for trial work. Ms. Thompson previously worked in finance as Junior Compliance Counsel at Sequoia Capital, in hedge and venture funds as well as employee benefits.
