Adam Philip Lipsic is a Partner at Hersh Mannis LLP and a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. After graduating from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2005, Mr. Lipsic immediately commenced practicing at Hersh Mannis LLP, where he had been interning since his sophomore year of college at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Mr. Lipsic was elevated to a Partner of the Firm in 2014.
Mr. Lipsic’s practice is devoted exclusively to family law, including a wide range of domestic matters such as divorce, dissolutions of same-sex domestic partnerships, custody, premarital and postnuptial agreements, and parentage. He is equally as comfortable litigating a case to its completion as he is guiding a client to a negotiated settlement agreement, and he frequently deals with highly complex and sophisticated family law matters. Mr. Lipsic has represented a wide range of clients, from famous entertainers and athletes, to corporate and entertainment executives, to stay-at-home parents. He is sensitive to the personal, emotional and private nature of the matters he is handling for each of his clients. Through his direct, goal-oriented approach, he attempts to achieve the best potential resolution as expeditiously and quietly as possible. As Mr. Lipsic puts it, “Sugarcoating is not the solution. Clients want honesty and integrity, and their privacy safeguarded as much as possible.”
Mr. Lipsic graduated Order of the Barristers from Pepperdine University School of Law, receiving this national distinction, which is bestowed upon select graduates for their excellence in oral advocacy. While at Pepperdine, Mr. Lipsic was selected by faculty to represent the school on the Pepperdine Trial Team for two years, winning three regional competitions and advancing to the national championship in Texas. Mr. Lipsic also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Roy Paul at the Los Angeles Superior Court while attending law school.
Mr. Lipsic is well known for moderating important panel discussions on significant areas of the law. In 2019, Mr. Lipsic was invited to join a panel that included a Superior Court judicial officer and other highly experienced family law attorneys, to present important aspects of trial preparation for members of the Los Angeles County Bar Trial Institute. In 2017, Mr. Lipsic co-developed curriculum for international estate and trust attorneys on the important topic of: “Cross-Border Wealth Protection of the International Elite”. That curriculum was presented at two industry symposiums in Beverly Hills, California and London England.
Recent industry accolades include: Recognition by Los Angeles Magazine as a Rising Star before earning a place on their annual Super Lawyers list; Inclusion in the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Advisors Guide, which recommended Hersh Mannis LLP as a firm and Mr. Lipsic as individual attorney; In 2016, Variety identified Mr. Lipsic in its Legal Impact Report “Up Next” section, which profiles younger attorneys accomplishing any goal that influences or sets new standards in the business. Mr. Lipsic is a member the Beverly Hills Bar Association, where he previously served as co-chair of the Family Law Section, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association and he has participated as a Speaker at both the Beverly Hills Bar Association (2015 Family Law Symposium: Tax Affecting S Corporations for Business Valuations) and the Los Angeles County Bar Association (2010 family Law Trial Advocacy Program: How to Conduct a Custody Trial). Mr. Lipsic is also a graduate of the nationally recognized Family Law Trial Institute in Houston, Texas. Recent interviews have included: “How to Hire A Private Judge”, for the The Wall Street Journal’s podcast, “Watching Your Wealth.”
In his spare time, Mr. Lipsic enjoys spending time with his wife, Tara, their two children, Lily and Landon, and their bernedoodle puppy, Roxy, following University of Michigan sports (Go Blue!), and obsessing over the Los Angeles Lakers.
